SOUTHBROOM NEWS - NOVEMBER 2008

A SOUTHBROOM RATEPAYERS, CONSERVANCY & COMMUNITY POLICING INITIATIVE.

This newsletter is intended for ratepayers & residents of Southbroom, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.  Click to Unsubscribe if you do not wish to receive it, or click Subscribe if you did not receive it direct.

>> IMPORTANT PUBLIC MEETING - PLEASE ATTEND

Your support, attendance and/or participation, is needed at the Hibiscus Coast Municipality's Mayoral Imbizo (public meeting) which will be held this Thursday 20th November at 17h00 at Munster Sports Club.

Izimbizo form part of the formal communication process that affords ratepayers and residents the opportunity to raise service delivery and development issues with the municipality directly through the Mayor. Meetings are normally attended by the Mayor, Exco Councillors, the Ward Councillor, Municipal Manager and Directors.

Southbroom is part of Ward 1 which together with two rural Wards, 10 and 11, forms Cluster 7. This is the first time ever that a Cluster 7 Imbizo will be held in Ward 1 (previously we have travelled inland and been addressed largely in Zulu) and it is imperative to the continuance of this initiative that we demonstrate our need and wish to communicate.

It is vital that anyone who has an issue to raise with the HCM attends the meeting and avails themselves of the opportunity to draw attention to pressing issues. Be it rates objections, roads, verges, transfer stations, street lighting, enforcement of bylaws, sanitation, crime, business or tourism, this is your forum. Use it.

So please tell you neighbours and friends, and be there:

Munster Sports Club, 17h00, this Thursday 20th November.

Directions: Turn left off the coastal road into Munster. Travel along past the caravan park until you get to a shopping complex on your left. The road splits into three. Turn right and follow the road down and around to the Club. You will see the bowling greens, squash court and hall on your left.

>> DOMESTIC WORKERS FORUM - 28 NOVEMBER AT 12H00

Please ensure that your domestic workers (and garden services and construction workers) attend the meeting at the Southbroom Community Centre, 12h00, Friday 28 November 2008.

SAPS Sector Police run these important meetings on behalf of the Southbroom Community Policing Forum. The purpose of the meeting is to gather information and to educate on the effects of crime on tourism and employment.
